I've found Dev Bootcamp to be far more than just an education on how to build software. It's given me a roadmap on how to change my thinking to become the kind of professional and person that I've always wanted to be.
Imagine spending long hours every day with dozens of the most intelligent, entrepreneurial, coolest people you've ever met accomplishing something that is supposed to be impossible. That's Dev Bootcamp in a nutshell.

I can't believe that in just a couple months I went from knowing nothing about Rails to creating some amazing web apps at Dev Bootcamp! The atmosphere was so encouraging and safe that all I wanted to do was code into the crazy hours of the night with my fellow Bootcampers. I really discovered a lot about myself, how I learn, and how I dealt with others while pair programming. It was truly an amazing experience and I would definitely do it again!

What's amazing about Dev Bootcamp is the environment; it’s full of fun, passionate people who are hungry and amped about learning. The mix of lectures, coding, mentorship, guest speakers, and team projects all come together for an education which is unlike anything I've ever experienced in the past. Universities could learn a thing or two from Dev Bootcamp. The program actually equips you with skills and knowledge that are immediately transferable to the real world.

I wanted to sit next to other incredibly motivated individuals who were determined to finally learn to code. I wasn't sure what to expect, but I knew that I wanted to be pushed hard. Shereef and the mentors at Dev Bootcamp push my limit daily. The support of the class and the energy in the room set the limit further than I could possibly set on my own. The program is not for everybody. It's humbling. It's hard and exhausting. This is the fastest I've ever learned anything.

Shereef has done an amazing job of bringing some of the smartest, most ambitious, most driven people I have ever met together in one room to work intensively together with the singular purpose of becoming professional programmers.
I have never learned so much programming, or anything else for that matter, in such a short period of time. I never thought I would be able to accomplish this much.

Jeremy joins Dev Bootcamp after 16 years working as an IT Systems Administrator, mostly recently at 23andMe. His favorite sayings include such gems as "Have you tried turning it off and back on?" He lived and worked for almost 9 years at a hippie retreat center in Big Sur, California before escaping to SF in 2011. Jeremy is a graduate of the spring 2012 pilot Dev Bootcamp program. He enjoys chess, table tennis, dancing, brunch, and hats.
A former architect (of buildings) who eventually realized he preferred fiddling with bits moreso than bolts. Minus the details, he went to grad school, flew out to the Bay Area, and has been happily coding every since. When not programming he's usually doing something reckless and foolish like biking without a helmet or talking with girls.
Tony graduated with a dual degree in Neuroscience and Biology from USC. He then worked in a series of positions including Polysomnographic Tech, Pharmaceutical Salesperson and Co-founder of mayancoop.org before taking a post-graduate fellowship to Korea and staying there for four years. He came back to SF in 2011 and worked with several startups, leading one of them to acceptance into Rock Health. He then went through the pilot Dev Bootcamp program and upon graduation, decided not to leave. He loves chess, cooking, rollerblading, and coding.

After 12 years of coding for money, Corey Haines said enough and went on a year-long, journeyman pair-programming tour. Traveling the world, pair-programming for room and board, he spent his time teaching, learning and just living as a knowledge-cross-pollinating, little, software craftsmanship bee. For the past four years, Corey has focused his attention on helping developers improve their fundamental software design skills through the use of focused-practice events, such as coderetreat. He currently specializes in training teams on fundamental development technical practices, as well as building projects and products when not on the road.
Steve Bearman, Ph.D. is the founder of the Interchange Counseling Institute, and a counselor, social justice educator, and workshop leader residing in San Francisco. He has published articles on internalized sexism, male sexual conditioning, mentoring, and the philosophy of psychology. He receieved his BA in Individual Transformation and Social Change from Hampshire College. Steve has been teaching in the Bay Area and throughout the country since 1996.
Tim has been a contract programmer for over a decade and been working with Ruby since before Rails went 1.0 – after years of hating the existing alternatives that predated Rails. He’s spoken at Ruby conferences, published rubygems, gotten patches into Rails, partaken in underground ruby meetups, and scaled sites into millions and millions of monthly hits, but is proudest of his efforts to stay involved with mentorship, training, and diversity in the ruby and tech communities.
Wolfram Arnold, Ph.D. is a seasoned software professional with 17 years of experience and has been working on consumer web applications in Ruby-on-Rails since 2006. He has co-founded RubyFocus, a Ruby-on-Rails consulting and recruiting firm. Wolf learned the ropes on Rails while working on a project at Pivotal Labs in the winter of 2006/07 and has been an active member of the Rails community ever since. He holds a Ph.D. in physics and used to teach undergraduate physics classes as a graduate student. Wolf speaks English, German, French and Spanish and currently lives in San Francisco.
